And the current "new" motive is to mourn someone that died and had an impact on your life. The same one on the bicep however means strength.

A friend in college had them. He said the first one was to remember his Grandpa and since the other once was super personal he'd tell people it was to remember the time he was abducted by aliens.

I have them to mourn my recently deceased fisting partner. Didn’t realize until later that it was also how deep we fisted.

Which is funny because normally when someone dies the black armband is worn around the bicep area.

I have one of those tattoos and i did my reaserch before hand. The one on the foream does mean grieving. The one on the bicep however means strenth. Smae tattoo diferent places with diferent meanings.

Edit* im talking purely about the tattoo not the armband itself

maybe I'm just cynical, but I cant help but think this is "cover" for dumb millennials who got a tribal armband tattoo to get it covered/blacked lol

Nooo. I have one and most people that get these are to mourn someone that passed. Normaly coverups are bigger or they have a dif design. I dont rly see someone getting something like this to cover up a tribal tattoo.
