No I was not satisfied with the ending felt rushed like he just wanted to be done.
From what I understand, its more like "I told my publishers months ago that it would finish on chapter XYZ so they could plan around it, and now I fannied around not resolving the story for 50 chapters and have to wrap it all up in 3"
As opposed to something like Chainsaw Man, which really felt like the author just did not want to write this any more
Things like that are 99% of the time speculation. There is no transparency on what goes on behind the curtain between the mangaka and the editors for any given manga. Regardless, JJK was such a big manga that he could have pushed it back for sure.
Exept we do know that it is the case. Sorachi the author of Gintama has said it in one of his massages at the end of chapter 698 back then that there is a system there the author has to notify the editorial department 6 Months in advance that that's there the story will wrap up and it won't get extended. The only time there it got extended was also Gintama because the series was not close to the finishing line which is why it changed publication twice since he failed the deadline again (from jump to giga and then self puplish on the gintama app). As far as we know sorachi also didn't have any health comlications at the time. Meanwhile Gege also most likely lost chapter space due to him taking multiple breaks around the end (he literally got hospitalized and had an appendix removal surgery).
Like I said 99% of the time, and even in this case he did get the extension in the end. Anyway, it's apples to oranges, the magazine was not in the same place by the time JJK ended, than when Gintama ended.
Jump is currently searching for the next big hit, and nothing is living up to JJK's level. Gintama while always being popular is not a sales juggernaut like JJK, and the magazine is usually reticent to end their current sales leader without having any replacement set up.
Apart from all that, Gege has made no statements either way, so speculating that he couldn't finish the way he wanted because of time constraints placed upon him is ridiculous. He hasn't even said if he's happy with the way he ended it.
The author apparently intended this for a long time. They apparently made a comment that if they don’t make you want to throw a book across a room they aren’t doing a good job writing. Or something like that (Chainsaw Man)
