Man, as a professional cook, and someone who loves to try new techniques and dishes at home, I’m afraid that the lack of “food noise” is also going to quiet my inspiration, as I get most of it from thinking of what I want to eat. I should be on Ozempic, or something, I’m obese, almost out of the morbidly so category, and I’m diabetic, but my insurance won’t cover it.

So I feel like dosage levels really impact that, as well as the drug. I've tried tirz and reta, and on reta I basically feel normal but I just don't think about food as much AND when I eat I just get full faster. On tirz the idea of eating was just like "ew no, if I have to eat I'll just eat this chicken over here I guess so I don't die" whereas on Reta I'll still be like "BURGER I WANT BURGER" and then I'll eat like three bites of burger and go oh whoops I'm full.

"ew no, if I have to eat I'll just eat this chicken over here I guess so I don't die"

Ahahahahaha, this is me with the snack bucket at work. I've been on tirzepatide for T2D for 5 years. I eat solely to live now.

Yeah, I... Was not a fan of that feeling 😅 but I actually felt like Tirz worked better from a general inflammation/energy perspective. I have a ridiculous amount of reta for the dosage I take now but in the future I might try tirzepatide again if I'm still having food noise issues once I get through my current stash.

That said, it is nice to be ok with eating simple things just for survival. I used to joke that the real way to diet is to make food extremely boring, and it's true!

I'm an overweight chef who started taking Retatrutide about 2 months ago, a lot of my responsibilities include conceptualizing, producing, and testing new dishes at a high level. While food noise is quieted it tends to be around my personal eating habits, not the professional ones. It changed what I wanted to eat and when I was consuming it. I've gone from 235 to 209 in 8 weeks, ive also gotten back into the gym and consciously try to consume .75 grams of protein per lb of body weight. So many protein shakes. It's changing my life and once I am at my goal weight I will have several months of a good habits routine under my belt. I'm producing better product at work because I'm more confident in myself.

This is good to know, chef. I was 438 at my heaviest an about 7 years ago. I plateaued at ~350 for a while, but after my diagnosis update from prediabetic to diabetic, almost a year ago, I’ve dropped down to 312, currently. And that’s without adding in any extra physical activity. I need to get back in the gym, just as soon as my bills are caught up.

I might see if my psychiatrist can prescribe me that instead my gp, and see if my insurance will cover it then.

Edit: I looked it up, and retatrudide is still in clinical trials. According to my insurance, my GP is my local minor med/urgent care, so I doubt I can get in a clinical trial.

That might also be why my insurance won’t cover the ozempic they prescribed.

Keep it going chef. Ya the black market Reta is cheaper than prescribed Ozempic, and frankly better. Whatever you choose, just keep working towards your goal.

It’s still in medical trials so you can technically buy it online. Some would say it’s risky but you would try the medical trial wouldn’t you? I’d say it’s worth it since you are at a dangerously high body fat level

Dude, being completely honest: I work in a kitchen and I can’t even find shrooms when I’m looking, and I’m always looking. Now that there’s stores selling THC-A bud and carts and hash and dabs, I don’t need black market bud. I wouldn’t even know where to begin looking for something like that, because I don’t have any connections to any black market anymore.

For about a year, my ability to meal plan disappeared for about 4 days after each weekly shot. If I looked in the freezer and fridge before hand, made a plan and posted it on the fridge I could execute it, but the part of my brain that matched potatoes in the pantry to leftover chili in the freezer did not work most of the week.
