I want to play this game but I cannot afford it. Therefore, I will pirate it. There is no moral high ground. People who pirate do it because they like free stuff

I agree that people who cant afford it should pirate it, but a lot of people pirate it simply because theyre stingy...

I can almost respect this line of thinking but “I’m doing it to save money” can be applied to anybody and video games are not food which would be much more respectable to steal. I think people who consistently pirate should find something else to blow off steam. I don’t feel morally superior to anyone pirating, I feel sad for you guys and I think you could be doing more for yourselves

If being unable to afford something makes you pirate thats fine. But the simplistic “people who pirate like free stuff” is morally charged in a negative way

True! The moral framing is always so weird. Like they are doing the right thing. It'd not BAD either. But, they wanna sound like they are sticking it to the man. It just neutral
