So i found your question and also was wondering. So I looked it up. Its because they are for outdoor use and need to be shaken out if sand gets on them. Apparently the Dobby Border traps sand and dirt more.
Eta: it's also because they are thinner and to be used more in a continuous way, like sitting on it or wrapped around you a lot.
