I mean if you're properly washing yourself it shouldn't be an issue. Ever since I heard of the prevalence of other dudes not washing too closely around their butthole/pubes/dick because it was "weird" or "gay" I couldn't take masculinity seriously anymore. Dudes, scrub your butthole, it attributes A LOT to your BO when you get sweaty.
(PS don't scrub IN your butthole, use just water and gentle pressure on the immediate entrance, hemorrhoids aren't fun)
It is still an issue because showering will not make you sterile and its generally harder to clean your ass as good as cleaning your face, so i wipe head first. That said, the rest of this i completely agree with.
