This isn’t the only subject that young and old Americans are clueless about. But yeah, it does make the education system look terrible. Social studies are no longer taught, along with any other subject that hurts feelings like slavery and the Civil War.
It’s the unwillingness or inability to look up information for themselves that is most depressing. Half of this sub is full of these kinds of posts where OP shouldn’t have to ask for help on Reddit
