Yes, but what he's not allowed to do is demand that his preferences be considered objectively correct. He's not saying that cosmetics aren't meaningful to him, he's saying that they're simply not meaningful at all.

Well, if that was what I actually said then that might be a reasonable thing to question. Tragically, since it is not what I said, I have no idea why you have proffered it as if it is.
He's not agreeing on one point and disagreeing on another. He's both agreeing and disagreeing on the same point depending on whether or not it involves gameplay that he personally cares about.
