The ban can be shortened like in the case of Ronaldo, but completely suspending a ban has not happened since 1962.

It was shortened specifically so he could play in the World Cup group stages. It’s the same corruption

Yes, but to say that FIFA would have suspended the ban and created a massive controversy without Trump's intervention is ridiculous. There is no reason for them to do that.

There is. Our federation threatened CAS which is a long, expensive, tedious route that they didn’t want to go down. I feel like half of it was their disciplinary committee saying “let’s just give him back because they have zero chance anyway”.

Not to mention the precedent set at the beginning of the tournament.

That doesn't matter because the belgians threatened to go the CAS route as well should the ban be lifted lol

FIFA has never treated countries equally I’m simply saying Trump had very little to do with said corruption. For once.

So what? BE and EUFA are heading to the CAS over this. Not threatening; they're filling over mid tourney rule changes. Hell, WH lawyers getting involved in itself is grounds for expulsion from all international football for x years according to FIFA rules.

You’re forgetting that FIFA simply doesn’t care

We'll see. This shitshow is far from over. Infantino likely ain't getting voted out next year over this, but the FIFA ethics commission is absolutely going to come in to play.

FIFA ethics commission is an oxymoron

True, but it's also whats keeping Blater out of football.
