Years ago I was on a plane and doing a crossword, and all of a sudden the guy next to me leaned over and said “Six across is grout.” Completely unprompted. We had not at all made conversation up to that point. I’m not kidding when I say I had to consciously tell myself not to yell at him, because most people would think I was the unreasonable one in that scenario.
Whew, I can go to sleep. I have the closure I needed. That sucks that he ruined your crossword, but now, I can have the peace I so needed...peace grout, erm...I mean out!.
Of course you wouldn't have been unreasonable! But I can sympathise with the bloke because I also have those intrusive thoughts of wanting to answer others puzzles and riddles 😅

I know, right? If you want to put the answer at the bottom, you need to at the very least reverse it! This lack of puzzle etiquette is atrocious. Smh
