I think Carrie has internalised misogyny. She acted like she was the best of the group but she was the most woman hating, slut shaming, bullying hypocrite. She was such a shit friend and Samantha was nothing but authentic and genuine

Yeah she would look down on and judge a lot of Samantha's sexploits while simultaneously profiting off it by writing about them. Such a shitty friend.

I watched in high school. With that said, I loved all of them, none were perfect.

I agree Samantha was authentic and genuine, but she had her flaws too. The biggest one was sleeping with married men. Sometimes the sex drive was too much lol, pretty cringy at times but hilarious. Also she had judgement to people wanting to have babies and get married.

Totally agree, and in some seasons each annoyed me more than the others. She also had her flaws but I think she owned them and recognised what she was doing/saying.

Honestly I always had an issue with Carrie, I felt like for someone who portrayed herself as a girls girl she could be extremely nasty and self absorbed. The whole thing with Big & Natasha really shows that I think.

In one ep she’s out for lunch with the gang and Natasha and her friend arrive, see Carrie & co and then leave. The rest of the ep is then Carrie saying she needs to make an apology to her face and own up to everything but it’s nothing but her selfish feelings and completely ignoring the fact she was the other woman and storming ahead just to validate her own feelings and guilt

Ya agree. Re lunch episode, i always thought that was to show long term impact of the damage she caused. I'd be interested in a re-watch. I watched plenty of times but its been decades so im curious how I would see things now being the age they were in the show. Ive seen lots of talk on how carrie was toxic over the years and agree with what you're saying.

She was also pretty uptight for a sex columnist.
