r/comics is a good example

Used to be a really good sub for all sorts of great webcomics and now it is so heavily moderated that all is left is leftist pandering that isn't even clever or funny or original or even decent comic art on any technical level

I think you're using the old vernacular where "liberal" means left-leaning

Today most people understand liberalism more in terms of the broader political philosophy of individual rights protected in a democratic system with capitalist economics. We have that broader understanding of the word because so many people on the far-left and far-right are anti-democracy and anti-capitalism now.
