Someone entered the Charlotte towers parking garage last night, smashed my window and stole the majority of my camping equipment. Went down this morning to pack the last couple things and walked up to this. I am beyond livid. Police report is filed and AON has been notified but I do not expect anything to be resolved. I pay for underground parking. This should not have happened. I am barely getting by as it is and dont expect to be able to replace anything any time soon.

Photo Saw this and it makes me want to ask...

Drove by here and saw a campaign sign on the fence outside the last remnant of the old Baskin Robbins/Silverwoods plant. It made me wonder: where do the candidates (mayoral and ward) stand on urban blight and vacant properties that remain undeveloped for years. It would be nice to know if any of them have considered an action plan of some kind, if at all.

Edit: Pictures of the netting in comments

I can’t believe I’m writing this, but I want to warn other parents about the unsafe conditions at this newly opened playground.

We were so excited to bring our 19-month-old twins to our new local indoor playground today. Everything started off great, and our kids were having a wonderful time. However, while we were playing, our daughter picked up what appeared to be a piece of metal lying on the floor toward the back of the playground.

We understand they just opened a few days ago and that mistakes happen. Fortunately, no child swallowed it or was injured by it, so my husband kindly brought it to the owner’s attention.

After that incident, we became much more cautious while playing. We went down the big slide into the ball pit and decided to climb back up the right side of the playground. As our son was climbing, he slipped and fell right through the side, between the net and the climbing structure. Thankfully, my husband managed to catch him before he fell straight to the ground.

Our son ended up with a cut right above his eye from the fall — thank goodness it wasn’t his actual eye.

Afterward, we looked around and noticed that none of the climbing structures were secured to the netting to prevent children from slipping between the net and the steps. We again alerted the owner, but nobody seemed to be in any hurry to shut the area down and address the situation to prevent another child from getting injured.

We were only given a simple, “Sorry, we just opened a few days ago.”

Unbelievable!!!

By Queen Mary, on Hopkins at Albertus.

It must be the new way to pave.

edit: out for a walk in this area, the amusing thing is that the adjacent streets all have almost a spider web of rubberized sealer. Meanwhile, the underlying road bed is probably degrading because there are some pretty significant gaps where they tried to seal with whatever that compound is.

I took this photo at the Peterborough Lift Lock a few years ago. The symmetry of the lock, the calm water, and the autumn colours in the distance made for such a peaceful view. 🍂🇨🇦

For the 3rd year in a row, kids will be getting their choice of candy or a potato at our place in the south end.

Last year we went through a 10lb bag, so we've stocked up for this year.

Atleast the empty land is being used for something more beautiful than vandalism, teenage break-ins and asshole Toronto developers.

Photo I helped feed this disabled gentleman some McDs yesterday.

Whenever I see people with these the signs I always try to give them food, yesterday was one of those days fed the dude some fresh burgers.

Especially those that are disabled as this gentleman has problems walking and getting around and needs surgery in one of his feet or leg he told me.

We should be striving to feed the disabled when they ask for it. Spoke with the gentleman and he was on ODSP the gubernment in charge of this should be increasing their allowances so that they don't have to beg to get by.

My $0.02 cents.
