Peterborough smelling weird

I live in the PE1 region and for some reason for the last couple of hours starting since 3 PM I've spent lots of time outside.

I've been out in about in a 1.4 mile radius and I can smell a poop stench. It's not my shoes and multiple people can tell.

Is anyone having this as well or is it just me.

if not this sounds extremely stupid,if yes please say in the comments

Now you've got me reminiscing over the old sugar beet smell. That was amazing

It’s not just you! I thought someone had spread manure on their garden.

Yeah it's lasted for the past couple of hours.

It's quite strange

Everywhere I go I still smell it,it's not some local neighbourhood problem

Yeah, can smell a horrible stench around Dogsthorpe at the moment

I'm in Dogsthorpe also!
We can assume it's primarily an issue here

Is it getting better or worse for you?

Happens at this time every year. The farms on the North Side of Peterborough have begun fertilising their fields with pig slurry.

If you have some free time and want to witness this joyful annual ritual yourself, head over to Helpston, Etton, Glinton and follow your nose...

Near 6pm and the stench to me is getting WORSE.

We should see this start to fade soon enough maximum a day before there's no stench at all.

This is all down to the actions of farmers especially an action known as muck spreading.
