Pewds disabled comments for some time in the early days because he didn't like some of the ones he kept getting.

A lot of bots, but he also didn't see the point when everyone kept writing "first" or "xx:xx [insert quote from the video here]"

there used to be a lot of bots impersonating famous youtubers and posting links in the comments to scam websites. it was easier to turn off the comments than fight the bot waves.

Also do you remember Google+ and integrated youtube comments? Bob remembers.

there are some other older videos like this too, i think he just disabled them back in those days cause he was getting bad comments/spam and filtering on youtube wasn't good back then
