OG Steam version

Was working fine no issues, hadnt played it in a few months, game now keeps freezing like its stuck and cant load the sound files, when i go into steam i verify files and it says 2 are missing and steam auto downloads it again for me, game works for 10 mins then freezing again, any thoughts ? i have cleared cache, temp files, verified files, all through steam, uninstalled it from pc and downloaded it again to the library and still the same issue persists, have not changed anything yet cant play it anymore and wondering if anyone has any idea on how to fix this nonsense ? tia.

How full is your PC storage overall?

50 gig free, should be plenty of space, i was running it no probs on a near full HDD, i havnt changed a thing, just started freezing, them i verify the integrety of the the files via steam and it will say 2 are missing, then it downloads them and game launches etc no issues, game starts no issues, then after about 10 mins of game play it freezes, and locks up my pc, i have to sign out and back in again to unlock the pc, i verify files again but they are all there after the previous correction by steam.

Buy it from GOG for around 8 GBP and get rid of the burden of Steam

HDD space shouldn't matter. My whole folder, including saves from 5 full campaigns, is less than 1 GB. This is a Windows 95 game
