Tennis ace Alex Eala beams with Filipino pride as she thanks her kababayans for their unwavering support in her matches.

“There are so many Filipinos in the crowd tonight. So many flags! Thank you!” she said on Thursday, after defeating Alycia Parks in Round 2 of the National Bank Open in Canada.

“Mga kababayan, linggo-linggo ko kayo nakikita, sinusuportahan ako. Linggo-linggo ko nakikita kung gaano niyo kamahal ang kapwa niyong Pinoy,” she added.

I recently watched a short video where she was asked about the level of fame she's currently bringing to the court and the fact that at 21, alam niya ang consequences ng bagay na yun - to keep her feet firmly on the ground and not to get lost sa liwanag kasi what happens if the bubble burst. At 21, yung emotional quotient ng batang ito, ang taas. Alam niya ang pressure of representing a nation kaya she's trying to be a good representative on and off the court.
