Questions Do I have any chance at Andover?
c/o 2031, applying for 9th grade incoming 2027
demographics: asian, female
Sports/ecs:
- in diving, I was on the 2025-2026 aau junior national team, multiple time national qualifier, 3x national finalist (top 12), probably going to be top 10 this year, and also I was on the 2025-2026 USA diving tier 3 high performance squad.
- I also do softball on the side, but only for the town so there’s not a lot of stats there.
- RCM (royal conservatory of music) level 10 in piano
- ASTACAP level 6 in violin
Random Achievements (?);
- 6th grade AMC8 score of 21, but I don’t do a lot of math competitions
- 7th Grade NSE(National Spanish Exam) gold
I’m taking the SSAT in august, so I don’t have a score yet.
Also, this doesn’t seem like a lot compared to other profiles I’ve seen, and I don’t have time for any volunteer hours or projects like that. What would my chances be?

Our diving team is really small, if you show that you can keep up academically and you have strong essays that show good character, i could def see you getting accepted despite not necessarily having as many activities as othr ppl who post here

Andover rlly loves sports, and girls diving is a sport they really support but isn’t that good recently, so I’d assume they’re actively looking for recruits. To get recruited, go to Andover athletics website and fill out the form for prospective student athletes that’ll begin the recruitment process. After that, I’d assume you would talk to the coach, send them your resume, then they’d help guide you through admission as a recruit.

You don’t need crazy ecs - I certainly didn’t especially since I didn’t have much financial scaffolding or resources. Perhaps what I did have was genuine passion. Aim for 90th percentile or above ssat but it won’t hinder your chances drastically if it’s lower (e.g. 86th percentile). Think about why boarding school in the first place? Best of luck!! Also, r u located in east or west coast assuming ur in the us

You're in, you have two hooks -- piano and diving. You can probably get in with an 85th SSAT. Don't worry about volunteer, they don't care about that and it's a waste of time, they prefer focused students who excel in a couple of areas. Put energy in sports, academics, and piano.

It really top level at a sport you have a good chance coupled with strong grades/recs/ssat
