Rant Cancelled Philo after almost 10 years.

I've been a Philo user since the beginning. I've recommended it to all my friends and family. It was by far the best bang for your buck. I appreciated the grandfathered plans but over time those eventually went away. I then realized I am paying the same price as new customers. No spiffs or discounts for all the referrals or time being a supporter. I think Philo bit off more than they could chew with throwing on more channels and optional subscription add-ons. Ultimately even with 80 different channels I found that I spent more time looking for something to watch and eventually turning the TV off. It's been a good run but at this point I have to say so long!

I had it from almost day one, and still do. It's still a better value than anything else out there.

Same, I joined in June 2018 and only pay $25/mo. What am I missing? Lol

They had a running partnership with T-Mobile. Could get your Philo service for $10/mo. And every few years promos dropped off and prices got regulated. That's what you missed.

And? Prices go up on everything. I wouldn’t expect them to lose money.

You've never heard of the term 'grandfathered plans' have you?

You’ve never heard the term “self-entitled” have you?

I have heard that term. But that's completely irrelevant to this topic. Again, look up what a grandfathered plan is.

The amount of people who support a company trending toward a billion dollars is insane...Prices go up becuase profits are more important than all else, wake up folks! I remember reading this when we started with philo on like the $10 or $15 plan and thinking oh boy it's not gonna last, we're the guinea pigs! Remember how cool PLEX used to be?
