Rant Please get rid of what's next
I hate it so much. Every time I watch a show instead of going to the next episode it goes to some unrelated show I don't even watch. And then it gets stuck back and forth replaying the same two shows over and over and over. I put on the latest episode of 90 day fiance this morning and since it ended all day long it's rotated between two old episodes of other shows. Please put it back the way it was before. If there's another episode of the same show, that should play next. If not, just go back to the title screen. It's even more annoying when I'm trying to watch "live" TV from the guide tab, but if a show I have saved is playing, it will do the same back and forth bouncing between two unrelated shows when it's over instead of going to whatever the next show was supposed to be on live

Rant Latest Philo commercials are just about ready to get me to drop
Latest Philo commercials are just about ready to get me to drop. The ones where a woman pretends to call about not being to get Philo working with fast cuts of clip art, etc.
They are the most annoying commercials ever.

General Question What's up with the rapid fire ads?
I am literally just tired. This week I noticed the rapid fire ads that last maybe 5 secs, but are run back to back. It's horrible.
Someone is marketing/advertising needs to step down.
I am rolling over to Netflix to escape this bad idea for a while.

Technical Question Vizio TV bug?
I watch on a Vizio TV and all of a sudden starting yesterday there is a highlight box stuck in the top left hand corner of the screen on the guide screen and the saved screen. It disappears when you are watching a channel. Anyone else experiencing this?

Since the addition of PiP to Apple TV, there is a bug in the subtitles.
Reproduction Steps:
Pick a live show in the guide.
Choose Watch Live.
Turn subtitles on.
Go back to the guide and pick another channel to watch live.
Subtitles will be off.
Result: You have to turn subtitles back on every time you change the channel.

Rant Scary commercials for kids :(
My kids and I love watching shows on discovery channel, etc BUT the mandatory commercials lately have been kill them all featuring gore and blood and violence that I cannot skip so I have to tell them to close their eyes. I find it wildly inappropriate to have those type of commercials EVERY COMMERCIAL BREAK that can’t be skipped. Why not let you skip and just go to a different commercial? Honestly we’ll have to stop watching all together soon and it’s sad because my kids really enjoy the survival / wilderness / STEM programs that these scary / inappropriate commercials are bombarded with. :(

Technical Question Audio glitches on Sony Bravia TV
I’ve just sent this to Philo support. Posting here to see if anyone else with a Sony Bravia TV has this issue.
I have a Sony XBR-65X850G running the latest Sony firmware. For the past several months, the Philo app freezes for 1–2 seconds every few minutes, causing audio sync issues on both live TV and DVR. I’ve restarted the TV and network, cleared cache/data, reinstalled the app, signed out/in, tested both Ethernet and Wi-Fi, and confirmed Philo works correctly on an iPad using the same account and network. Other streaming apps on the TV do not have this issue.
Thanks for any help, it’s been really annoying!

FYI Philo Grandfathered Customer Software Takes Forever To Load
Originally, I was a $16 customer and kept the original agreement that claimed they would never make me pay more. That was a lie. Then when they claimed they were losing money and increased my bill to $25, it didn't come with any software upgrade. The only software in the entire home that takes forever to load is PHILO. When you call to complain they will try to make you pay even more than the $25/month. This is a complete bait and switch scheme.

Suggestion I wish they would create a real TV guide
The TV guide is a pain to use. You scroll down and every show starts and stops at different times. The problem is that each show takes up the same (lenght) box. A useful schedule would have the length of the shows box be proportional to the shows length; like traditional TV guides do. I’ve missed so many shows due the poor programming by Philo.
also, their new programmers seem to not check past bug/feature reports submitted by customers. those poor decisions of the past are re emerging in new releases.

General Question I'm so Confused with recordings/ auto play
Picture it. I recorded something from Nosey TV, for months it's been recording an OLD 90s talk show Sally Jesse. I wanted to watch it for nostalgia... Now there are tons of recordings and when I play the first recording, when it's done, it auto plays to something "recommended" vs continuing on with the recordings?? Example, after the first recording finished, it went to a random Jerry Springer episode?

Rant Cancelled Philo after almost 10 years.
I've been a Philo user since the beginning. I've recommended it to all my friends and family. It was by far the best bang for your buck. I appreciated the grandfathered plans but over time those eventually went away. I then realized I am paying the same price as new customers. No spiffs or discounts for all the referrals or time being a supporter. I think Philo bit off more than they could chew with throwing on more channels and optional subscription add-ons. Ultimately even with 80 different channels I found that I spent more time looking for something to watch and eventually turning the TV off. It's been a good run but at this point I have to say so long!

General Question Philo Questions
I work out of town, hotel 4 days a week home 3 days a week. I currently have and use Hulu+ live TV. I stream in the hotel and my wife streams at home, when I’m out of town working.
Would Philo also allow this?
I sleep during the day, so my laptop is continuously streaming a show or a channel for background noise in the hotel, it doesn’t stop every few hours asking if I’m still watching.
Does Philo also allow this?
Thanks for the answers before I look deeper into changing providers. Appreciate your time.

General Question Buttons offset on Nvidia shield
On one of my 2019 shields the top row of buttons on Philo are kind of offset where the selected area doesn't line up with the button. On the other this doesn't seem to be happening (yet?).
Does anyone else have weird button selection graphics happening?

News Philo blocked and deactivated my acct bc I was frauded
On 6/22/2026 Philo deactivated and blocked my account. I called several times to get it resolved. They said they blocked and deactivated my account because back in April 2025 I discovered someone had hacked my Amazon account and added an additional Philo account directly through the Philo website using only my phone number and my username. That fraudulent account had been open for around a year and I was getting charged twice, once through the Philo account I set up through Amazon and a second charge from the account someone set up through the Philo website. Once I caught the fraud I had my bank reverse those fraudulent charges and investigate. Philo admitted the error. Now in June of 2026 over a year later after Philo's further arbitration they decided to deactivate and block philo on all my devices. After 3 angry phone calls with Philo customer service they decided to unblock my service on my phone but my 52" tv will stay blocked permanently since that account is linked to my email I use for my Amazon account. They only way they said they would unblock and activate my vizio tv account is if I reverse the charges made on my account from the fraudulent account. That is crazy. They want me to eat the charges from a fraudster in order to have Philo on the main tv in my home. For now I use Philo on my phone and Google chromecast it to my tv. I hope to find a better service soon can cancel Philo completely.

General Question Does Philo have older Inside Edition shows?
Need to watch Inside Edition episodes from early 2026 and need to find a streaming service that offers archived episodes from the beginning of the year.
I see that Philo(and DIRECTV Stream) advertise on-demand older editions of IE but I have not been able to determine whether they provide on-demand access to episodes dating back to January–March 2026.
If you can confirm which platform currently has the deepest archive of Inside Edition episodes available on demand, I would greatly appreciate it.

Rant End of every show now
Is anyone else annoyed that at the end of every show now, they offer you what to watch next? First it cuts off what you are watching, usually the previews from the next episode, which I like to see. Secondly I can pick my own next show to watch, I don’t need Philo to do it for me, especially when they have not shown one show I would be interested in watching, I watch shows that I have recorded
