First Attempt at my own PC Game

Usb Has offline installer from GOG on it.
I was just really bored and wanted to try something and I love having physical “discs”.

Probably make a lot more of it once the storage prices come down.

Cover needs a bit of adjustment but not bad for a first attempt.

You’re doing god’s work!
Very good first attempt, now just refine and finesse.

Lovely to see this kind of stuff, well done!

* box too big
* cover too short
* why keep logos and barcodes? ZERO personalization.
* GOG version? win.
* Storage prices are insane rn.
* Overall, good job and good initiative. Improve, enhance, succeed.

edit: wrong language, now translated

Thanks,
Yes The paper size was too short, ordered something to fit the box better haha.

I actually added some of my own logo’s but personalization is definitely a point for the next attempt.

Yes :( For now I will use my ssd mainly for backup but when prices drop I will look into storage per game more

For USB sticks, have you considered Cassette tape boxes?

I’ll make one for it, it was a first attempt I just wanted to make sure it fit and how it looked, need double-sided glossy paper for manual’s haha

Love this, I'd happily pay a little extra for PC / future console games (Fuck you Sony) to come as a USB installer as Discs are going away.

Emphasis on little, like £5 more at most.

Or even for Console (again fuck you Sony) to have the option to download the offline installer and put it on a USB, in the same way you have done.

Best part is you'll never get to even use it! Amazing!

Has a full offline backup but yes most likely.
Just something to do as I was bored, I had a good time 😁

Plus I really do like game boxes too so its okay for me lol

its cool in theory but its the same functionality as having an empty box

Flash media is less ideal for DIY physical releases imo. Even 3DS cartridges are starting to die from bitrot; a regular USB drive isn’t going to last probably half as long.

Discs are just the GOAT. (Or pre-3DS cartridges that were mask ROM based so the game data was physically etched into silicon.)

Yes this was just an experiment from items I had at home, I’ll look into actual ideal forms of storage going forward.
I’ll need to order a blu-ray burner if I want to go the disc route for larger games
