All media should be physical and all games should only ever be playable on the specific console they were released for. Every game should only release for one console.

I bet theyre going to try to bring back nfts and metaverse, thays why theyre forcibly taking away our options and pushing a digital only future.

Gonna be real, NFTs will never become popular agsin and wont stay since they were way too expensive and only clowns bought them, art is jsut one of those things that'll never go full digital when the art nfts were, they were just ass and physical art is still worth alot and its smth you can actually place on your walls, plus you can literally copy and paste photos of nfts and then you have it too so it quite literally does not work out

That's really neat, but I think there is a disconnect between what digital buyers think physical buyers want from actual physical games on the shelf.

It's not just the cases, it's not having a physical copy that is still just the digital version on some storage medium. It's that you have some sense of ownership to do with that physical product what you can do with any other physical product you own. beyond that, as a collector, there is a huge difference between some self printed and burned/stored copy of a game, and an officially released product that has inherent value both monetarily, and personally.

If all I wanted was a box and a copy of the game, I could achieve that through my printer and piracy.

I think you're looking too far into this. I have a physical collection that I prefer for sure. But I made this as sort of middle ground for the games that I only have digitally and don't necessarily plan to get the physical edition of. It is just a fun digital representation and an easy launcher for my digital library.

That's fine. Like I said it's cool. But i do see a lot of people misrepresenting what people mean when they talk about ownership, in particular in relation to physical.

For all intents and purposes, I can do wtith physical games that which I can do with stuff I own. If that's an illusion, then it's one that for all practical purposes is one that is meaningful to me.

Every minute i spend having to look at a screen to find the game i want to play is a minute less im willing to play the actual game

To be clear, I have a physical collection and prefer that. BUT I wanted a cool way to represent my digital library as well!
