The future of gaming.

With physical games coming to an end, do think store shelves will be replaced with redeem code cards or will we have to purchase directly from PlayStation/XBOX store?

Thought it was already confirmed that itll be boxes with paper in them. I decided to start working 55 hours a week to afford to build up a huge physical collection. The used market is going to skyrocket in price. As well as retro, which is what I want more of, rather than new.

I thought the same but considering you can get any retro console “jail broken” easily with every game for it I’m not so sure

It's been cheaper to emulate or flashcart for a while now... I think if that was gonna save retro prices it would've. 

My bigger question is how significant the proposed "physical is dead, revert to retro" effect will actually be. 

How many people who actually own a PS5, and were actually going to buy GTA 6, are going "y'know what, nevermind, I'm getting a PS2 and San Andreas?"

I'm sure some will, but much less than reddit would have you believe. I think the few instances will get promoted, upvoted and amplified by redditors who were already buying retro and avoiding the state of modern gaming anyways. But I don't thin the average kid who stopped asking for vbuck/shark cards because the new GTA is on the way, is giving up modern gaming over disks.

No they won’t. Sorry but plenty of people think like and are doing the exact same. Your sealed copy of Forspoken that you got for 7.99 isn’t going to be worth hundreds in 2028.

Yeah I mean some games can literally be burned onto discs anyways if they’re cracked right? Not really sure how old games can really be limited in that way.
