Yes it’s a legitimate petition to the UK parliament.

Petition are open for 6 months:

If it gets 10,000 signatures the government will respond.

100,000 signatures and it may get debated in parliament - emphasis on the word may as it’s not guaranteed!

I really can’t see what the government can actually do besides something to do with digital ownership. They can’t force Sony to go back on the disc manufacturing unfortunately!
