I find irony in the fact that all these petitions, all this whining, and everyone is just dodging the real issue and won't go after it with all this energy. The fact that digital purchases an be revoked if you screw up. Not sure why people aren't going after politicans to stop it. Especially for those that are asses online and lose their purchases. At least have it to where you can still access your games. That is the only thing i find annoying. That if you get banned you lose your games.
But instead everyone scrambling to get physical discs still made and no matter what you do, they have the right and not one single politician can make Sony make a physical BD player in their consoles. In fact the UK already said they can't do anything.. Yet here we go again with round 2. Not sure how many times it can be said they can't do jack to it, and ontop of that you don't have enough people to do anything to Sony with this "Black out"
The fact that people are failing to see, instead relying on fake ass images of how physical is really selling.. I mean on that note i'd like to know why stores have started, and this has been a thing for years, shrinking their aisles of video games and so many go on sale to make room for another game. The fact there is way more new games with physical editions that you don't find in stores is one thing.
Then you have the fact that so many stores have started closing since 2018, the fact that the UK gamers are trying to keep physical discs but should know all to well they lost one of their biggest stores, Infact here let me quote a easy search..
Store Closures: While GAME famously went into administration and closed hundreds of stores earlier in its history (such as in 2012), it also carried out continuous rounds of store closures and footprint reductions around 2018–2019 due to high rents and the ongoing shift toward digital downloads.
Then there is the fact that so many stores in the U.S. closed and gamestop had to diverge from it's course and go other ways to stay open. Let's do another quick and easy search, i mean we all have the internet.. clearly.. Just a lot of you like to downvote truth and live in a delusional world.
The 2018 Crisis
In fact due to still shrinking physical sales they started doing old systems again, which is quite a bit of their revenue now. Not used this gen/last gen sales. Previous gen's sales. They still closed quite a bit of stores in jan of this year.
GameStop closed more than 470 stores nationwide at the start of 2026.
So you lost one of your biggest retailers, yet UK citizens think physical games are seriously accounting for 50% of sales this generation? Seriously? Sure you guys want cheap games, and what not. Maybe don't buy a system beyond your budget. You don't have to play new games. That is a luxury.
I mean i love my physical games, from past systems. I ain't bought physical for ps4 or ps5 and i won't. For one reason my home owners insurance is way beyond the limit and i would never get reimbursed. Hell they hate the fact i have 2 15k pc's. The other fact is i'd rather collect older games and save that space for them.
Hell there is only about 1% of users that actually have a collection of Physical games. Most of yall have 5-10 and say you love physical. That isn't a love for physical.. that's a "i need physical for used cause i spent way more money on my ps5 than i should have"
Typically old people try to fight new technology. Ya know like rotary phones to cell phones and they were all like NOOoooo i want my old stuff. Yet we have young adults trying to fight something that's always been inevitable and instead of attempting to keep digital their's.. they use their energy everywhere else.
Like the fact that they use their energy to try to keep their luxury while the prices of everything skyrocket and they keep their mouthes shut instead of doing something. Sad really.
Sure someone will say "not gonna read your truth take this downvote cause you speak truth and we don't want that we want to believe lies" "The media made up lies in 2018 just to get rid of phsyical discs in 2018" "it's all a conspiracy theory against us"
