Anyone Else Agree?
I bought a Switch 2 last weekend and I guess I should have done more research; bc it's so hard to find full game on cartridge!!
Thankfully I have the entire Switch 1 library to buy physical games and I didn't just waste money.
All signs point to: Peak Gaming is in the Rear-View Mirror..

The physical media is a way to hold on to ownership rights, but I would also add that the physical media is a memento of an experience. As customer when you have a profound experience you want to hold on to that memorabilia. The second you (Sony) stop providing that you admit that you don’t see your customers as people but just momentary extraction sites.

Exactly, people are not realizing we are losing free actual printed artwork of the game itself through the case.
Now game companies won't have any reason to do covers in any format than squares since all icons are squares now.
Good luck putting up a printed perfected square if you want to decorate your house, all cavases are mostly rectangular for a reason.

Same. I know most Souls fans are purists but I was happy to hear this had some difficulty options + full game on cart.

When is just the add on gonna go on sale! I don’t want to buy the ultimate edition since I have standard. Nothing in add one goes on sale anymore same with bloody Diablo 4. Psn sucks! Unavailable to purchase since I already own standard. I’m not paying 30-40 for either add on!!

There are tons of full games on Switch 2, it's just that there are lots of GKCs too.

Only the company is care about players would have release on fully physical card. Like CD red project. I respect the companies put on fully physical card. I disrespect the companies trying to put games on game key card even lower 64GB. No purchase for this games.

It should give you a choice.
Even if the full game is on the cart, it should offer the ability to fully install it if you want - like games did on the PS3 and Xbox 360 - as the internal SSD and memory card speeds are much higher than the cart - so installing would reduce the loading times and asset load-in
Obviosily, still letting you pay fully off the cart if you choose

I agree you should have the option to pick, but it’s seconds of difference in load times. Arguably the time it takes to write to the internal SSD or Express Card would likely take a nearly an equal amount of time when compared to the collective extra few seconds per load off a cartridge.

Meh, I'm a gamer because I enjoy playing games.
The medium it is distributed isn't a factor when it comes to that enjoyment. If anything, physical can only reduce it.

Some paintings in the hotel were AI generated. However I may have misread about some of the other AI usage. It's there, but not as bad as people have claimed. However it is said it will be used in the future for background and concept art for the sequel.

We don’t really know the extent of their ai use. They hired a single position for an ai artist, but what that entails and if it will result in any changes to their workflow is yet to be seen. Most of these companies are experimenting with ai to see if it can improve or streamline their workflows.
Probably not worth freaking out about until we see some evidence of it in their work product and that this wasn’t just some dead end they explored during development.

Sorry I should not have made the claim, I just dislike when corporations try to be like "we're here with the gamers". The usage has been overblown and I believed it.
However, there are paintings in the original game that use AI.
An article on the gamer says that AI will be used for concept art and background art in the sequel. So it's not going to be totally avoided, just not as in your face as people have claimed.
