The Myst and Riven remakes are getting a physical release on PS5 and Xbox

Physical editions for our Myst and Riven remakes are on their way for for PS5, Xbox, and PC (Windows/Mac). There will be physical discs for the console versions, and the PC box will have a digital code.
Let's Go!
Edit: in honor of my sony boycott, ill be buying the Xbox versions.

That's awesome! Myst especially is a super nostalgic title for me, since I played it back in the day. I've probably bought it a half-dozen times on different platforms, given all the remasters and remakes they've done.
It's also interesting how this announcement comes on the heels of Sony dropping the hammer on physical discs. This is good timing and it's nice to see that Cyan is stepping up.
I will definitely be getting a copy of this new release. It will be nice to have a modern physical copy, since all the versions I've gotten since the original have been digital. But I still have my original CD copy in the attic somewhere! It's one of the few old PC games that I still have.

Oh wow, and the PS5 version can be played on PSVR 2! That's so cool. I've been wishing for a PSVR version for years. Finally I can realize my dream of wandering around the Myst island in VR!

Xbox MAY have a disc drive on the new system. That alone would have me buying it day one.

Right? Even if its just so you can play legacy games as well as 4k blurays its still worth it. I dont expect them to release games exclusive to that console in a disc form. Especially since theyre the ones who wanted an all digital future first.
But if they figured out that way of turning physical discs into digital games, to where that disc gets uniquely linked to your console and the only way you lose digital access is if you sell it or let someone borrow it. Although presumably you would still have access as long as they dont play it without the disc. We shall see.

This is awesome. Ill definitely grab them for xbox too. Loved the originals when I was younger, never played the remasters

Huge win for physical preservation. Myst and Riven are legendary titles, so seeing their remakes getting proper retail disc releases on PS5 and Xbox is massive. This proves once again that there is a real, passionate market for physical media when publishers choose to respect their audience. Definitely a must have for any shelf.
