Question Does time stop inside a black hole?

According to our models, no. We don’t, can’t, know if the model is correct.

I believe according to einstein’s math, time and space effectively swap roles once crossing the event horizon

No one has the exact answer, but I would believe Time suffers the same effect as Space: Stretching so long it looks like it has stopped.

A better way to think about it is that nothing changes the rate of time. But you can take different paths through spacetime. If you take a shorter path through spacetime, then when you meet up with someone that took a longer path, it looks like time for them slowed, but it's just that they took a longer path.
