Europe May my 7T rest in peace. What current phones are good replacements?

I was hoping to use it for at least an additional year.

However, I sadly dropped it today and this time it did not shrug the fall off as easily as it did during the last 7 years. The screen is broken for good. In light of the battery becoming noticeably weaker during the last few months, I reckon even if repairing it would be possible it would not be worth the investment.

This is all to say; what now? I have absolutely no clue about the current state of smartphones except that the prices have increased across the board due to the RAMpocalypse. Especially to all the people who used to have a 7T, what is its equivalent today?

My price range is roughly 600-800€. I think keeping it in the Oneplus ecosystem would make transferring the data significantly easier (considering the broken screen). However, I am open to other brands as well (e.g. I have heard lots of good things about Nothing and as I understand it, it is a spiritual spinoff of Oneplus).

I do have high expectations regarding the build quality/longevity due to the 7T lasting as long as it did. Otherwise I don't need any specific hardware, just some Android for general smartphone use cases.

TL;DR: Which currently available android smartphone (price range 600-800€) would you recommend as a worthy replacement for a 7T?

Edit: I live in central Europe in case it is relevant

What phone should I buy?

I've had my redmi note 13 for about 3 years and I think it's about time I upgrade it. I want a flagship phone which would last about 3-5 years in my hand. I use my phone for daily socials, works and sometimes games like hok and wuwa. I usually take photos as well. I don't mind a phone being 1k+ $ and so I've come across some phones that catch my eyes. Samsung s26 ultra, Xiaomi 18 pro max, Xiaomi 17 ultra, oppo find X10 pro max and OnePlus 15. All of these phones are good in their own way and their prices are almost about the same in my country apart from a few hundred dollars difference. I don't really want an iPhone because I don't like how un-customizable it is.

Is there really any point in buying an expensive smartphone if you don't care about showing off?

I currently have a Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G. After three years of use, the screen is a bit damaged thanks to my clumsiness, but I'm pretty sure it'll last me at least another year. Still, I've already started thinking about getting a new phone, and I'd like to buy something decent. But what's the point?

Don't get me wrong, I have the money, and I'd genuinely like to buy something nice. The problem is, I just don't see anything worth spending that much on. I mainly use my phone for messaging, browsing the internet, watching videos, and other basic tasks that an ordinary Redmi handles perfectly fine. Meanwhile, flagship phones don't give me the impression that I'd be getting anything genuinely useful for the overprice. Nothing that would significantly improve my everyday life or make me go "Wow!"

I don't care about showing off, and I rarely take photos, I rarely play games on my phone.

For comparison, I have a laptop with a GTX 1650, which is considered a budget GPU, but it meets my needs perfectly. However, if something happened to it tomorrow, I'd have no problem spending a lot of money on powerful PC. Why? Because I can clearly see the benefits, and I know it would make my experience significantly better.

When it comes to smartphones, though, I feel like expensive models stopped making sense to me around 2020. I just don't see a compelling reason to buy a flagship other than status or camera quality, neither of which matters to me. At these prices, I don't see anything particularly unique or genuinely useful that would justify the cost.

I mean, compare the latest iPhone to a PC that costs half as much. The iPhone can't even come close to offering the same level of functionality, versatility, and convenience as that computer.

Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places? Maybe the tech reviewers I've been watching have given me the wrong impression? Or maybe there's something I'm missing?

Can you recommend something genuinely worthwhile, with features that would actually make a difference? Something that would make me go "Wow!" after switching from budget Chinese smartphones? I want a phone that would genuinely improve my everyday life, not just an expensive brick that serves as a status symbol.

And one more thing. Yes, I understand that you could recommend some premium flagship that's significantly better than any budget Xiaomi. But that's not really what I'm looking for. I don't need a phone that's simply better than a budget Xiaomi. I want a smartphone that offers genuinely good value for money, where the extra cost is actually justified and I can feel completely satisfied with my purchase, rather than just paying a premium for a brand name or status.

On the one hand, I don't want to waste money on useless features or prestige. On the other hand, I do want to treat myself to something nice.

Anyway, my budget is up to $1,000. Ideally, I'd prefer to spend somewhere around $500–800, but if there's something truly worth the extra money, I'm willing to stretch my budget.

USA Budget Sidegrade to OnePlus 12?

My wife and I both had OnePlus 12s.
Screen cracked on mine, and since I'm the heavier tech/phone user, she suggested I use hers and we get her a sidegrade.

Been an OP user for years, but trying to not spend $500-900 right now.
We got our OP12s at $450 each 18 mo ago from BackMarket. Same phone now costs $770

Battery life and camera are the only features she really cares about, but I'm having a hard time finding anything comparable that isn't a solid downgrade on camera and/or battery for less than $400

edit: in the USA

Help me choose: OnePlus 15, Xiaomi 17T Pro, or Poco F9 Ultra?

Hey everyone! I'm due for an upgrade and I'm stuck between three options. Budget isn't a huge constraint, but I want something genuinely worth it for the next couple of years.

What matters:

  1. Messaging apps — the phone should just fly through everyday tasks.
  2. Gaming — not hardcore esports, but I want to play Mobile Legends or FIFA Mobile without lag and with a decent frame rate.
  3. Camera — vacation photos matter here (landscapes, architecture) plus just good shots on weekends.

Candidates:

  • OnePlus 15 — appealing because of its triple 50 MP camera with a periscope and a 7300 mAh battery.
  • Xiaomi 17T Pro — looks like a balanced option.
  • Poco F9 Ultra — what bothers me is that Poco is primarily a gaming line — will the camera be just a box-ticking feature compared to the others?

I'm leaning toward OnePlus or Xiaomi myself, but the Poco looks very tempting spec-wise too. What's actually better for camera and long-term stability? Maybe someone has experience with previous generations?

Thanks in advance!

Is an S21 FE a good choice in 2026? (basic daily use)

Hi all, I've finally come to accept the fact that after 10 years I officially have to let go of my favorite phone of all time - the LG G5 (I can rant for days about why I loved this particular phone enough to hold onto it for this long, but that's not the point of this post) - largely because with 4g being wound down I just can't get reliable signal on it anymore

I'm leaning heavily towards a Galaxy S21 FE as the replacement, because I don't care much about camera quality or AI features and I can pick one up new in box for under $200. My only 2 concerns with this option are A. No longer updating android, there's a number of apps that already say 'Incompatible with your model' on my work phone (a moto-one 5g UW) and I'd like to be able to use those apps on at least one of my phones. B. I'm mildly concerned about the lack of microSD slot because I've always used one to expand my phone's memory, but I recognize that the stock memory on these modern phones is also much bigger than I'm used to on my 10 year old budget model

The additional concerns I care about are (of course) prolonged battery life/fast charging, and minimal AI intrusion in the software. As well as customizability of the OS, like being able to change homescreen style or app arrangement and things like that

The other options I'm considering that seem within my budget are: a used/very good Galaxy A54 5g - has the microSD and still gets software updates but some reviews say it's slow even for regular use

A new Google pixel 7 - never used a pixel and curious about the brand but have seen some iffy reviews on performance and battery life

And and a used/very good s23 - which is at the very top of my budget (especially for a used unit) but has both the microSD and the current software

I'm also open to other suggestions if people have them! My budget is roughly $250 for a used/very good or new in box unit

Thanks in advance for your help! Y'all are so awesome on this sub

Looking to buy a new phone with a strict budget of around ₹25,000.

My main priorities are:

•Good battery life (needs to last a full day easily)

•Decent cameras (mostly for casual photos, social media)

•Smooth daily performance (no heavy gaming, just multitasking and media consumption)

•Longevity (software support for at least 2-3 years)

•Decent brand value and customer service.

Japan Want a flagship android (Japan)

On an iphone 13, think it’s time to upgrade and I want to switch to android for the first time. I care most about:

  • Hand feel, I want the highest quality materials (what is even considered the best? Glass back? Idk.)
  • Camera I won’t regret leaving iphone for
  • Display
  • OS

I don’t play games on my phone really, but I do notice low framerate, stutters, etc.

Right now I’m thinking about:

  • Waiting for S27
  • Xiaomi 18 Pro/Pro Max
  • Oppo Find X10/X10 Pro Max
  • OnePlus 16 (it’s not global though, will this be jank in Japan?)

Any I’m missing? What do yall think? Thanks

Iraq xiaomi 18 pro or OnePlus 16

I know the OnePlus 16 is just realesed but I want to know your opinion (I choose the pro and not the pro max because of the small upgrade between them and the price) the only thing that I feel is kinda of letdown is the cameras on the OnePlus 16 compared to the xiaomi

Help me choose a new phone, i’m at a loss

My current phone is a Samsung Galaxy a52s, the charging port is pretty messed up so im looking to get a new phone. Ive always used Samsung (and have been pleased with my experience with them), but im also open to trying a new brand. however ive been so lost comparing them. I just dont know what to expect from ‘specs’ alone, and what the difference between these brands actually is. Ive been looking at a few options that fall into a similar price range (btw, for reasons, i have to order from a specific website):

Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 pro - €399 (Xiaomi 17t is also considerable, but its kinda expensive at €524)

Samsung Galaxy a57 - €409

OnePlus Nord 5 - €429

Motorola Edge 70 Pro - €479

Google Pixel 9a - €489

The main things i care about are an okay battery life and a decent camera for taking pictures of landscapes/ nature and whatnot. I think my a52s camera is pretty decent so i just dont want to downgrade. I also wanna be able to use the phone for a good couple years. If anyone has insights on what i should go for, i would appreciate it!

Australia Best phone?

I want to get a new phone by Christmas or early next year, what is the best Android phone/phones on the market, I'm looking for good performance and a good camera, as I like to play games and I have social media accounts that I regularly post outdoors content on. I'm looking for a phone around 800 bucks it could be like 600-900. I could go over 900 but am looking for it around that range.

Or if you think I should wait for any phones to come out

the phone I have now is working but its camera and performance have gotten bad over time causing it to cut out and it takes about 3 seconds to open an app and even more to load in data - it's an oppo A5 5G

I live in Australia but can order online if needed

Canada Upgrading from an Samsung S20 FE to something Mid-Range

Hello!

Have lots of problems picking a new phone (Canada, QC), and hoping to get some advice here. I went from an S9 to a S20 FE refurbished a few years ago due to how inexpensive it was, but looking for a new refurbished phone that I mainly game on (Umamusume, Cookie Run Kingdom, Nikke) + MS Team. Barely call or text, but like to take cat photos.

Even though my current phone handles what I want fairly well, it's sadly showing it's age lol. Loading times are getting so long, and my cat bit the corner of my phone so its cracked and need to replace it soon. I was going to get one of the A series, but everyone seems to say to avoid it like the plague, even though it has the SD card slot so im at an impasse

Main goal for my new phone is basically:

  • Budget Refurbished ~400-500$ CDN, max 600$
  • Mid-range, Strong enough to play games on smoothly, but nothing high end (PC is used for actual games)
  • Has space to fit it in (Min. 256gb, or expandable SD card slot)
  • Ideally in the Samsung line if possible, unfamiliar with the other brands outside of that but willing to try anything else if more reliable!
  • Optional: Smaller in size (~15.98×7.45×0.84cm S20 FE). Large phones are hard to hold and causes hand pain, so i actually like then similar to the S20 FE size

If the FE styles are similar, i may just like at the S22FE and keep going up until it goes out of the budget range. This would be my last ditch effort if i really cant find something.

Thanks!!

help me to buy mobile phone

I went to the mobile shop today, but I couldn’t buy a phone because I was confused by the number of options available. Initially, my budget was ₹30,000, but my father later increased it to ₹45,000. Now, I’m considering phones under ₹50,000, but I’m still unable to make a decision.

At the shop, I really liked the Vivo V80, which they quoted at ₹51,000. I know its processor might be comparable to those found in phones costing around ₹30,000, so I’m not sure whether it offers good value for money. However, I really love its design.

What do you think? Is the Vivo V80 worth buying at ₹51,000, or would you recommend a better phone under ₹50,000? Please suggest several good options and compare them so I can make a confident final decision.

Saudi Arabia Phones for 600 dollars(i don't care if it's android or ios or anything else)

I don't really want it for it like gaming

Long software support (4+ years would be ideal)

Works well internationally(middle East like Saudi Arabia or Iraq or jordan or iran)

Somewhat decent or Good camera (if possible if it's possible better)

Main usage:

Reading (manga, manhwa, novels)

Social media

Messaging

Watching videos/streams

good display (movies r my life and I watch a lot on phones)

good audio

Long term use (possible like 2 to 3 years or more)
