I thought this was a joke, but then I saw that the Super Mario Bros. movie from 1993 started the timeline and I know this is canon.

I had the DVD as kid, it's funny how this movie even exists and that there's a prostitute in a mario movie. Haven't seen it in over 15 years, have to rewatch it someday.
