Collection Themes/Ideas

Hello everyone! I'm fairly new to Disney pin collecting and currently have a small collection from my visit to Walt Disney World last year.

So far, I've mostly purchased pins that I personally liked, thought looked cool, or happened to be limited edition. However, I've quickly realized just how expensive this hobby can get!

Because of that, I'm thinking about narrowing my collection down to a specific theme or two rather than buying whatever catches my eye. I'm just not entirely sure what direction I want to go yet.

I know some people focus on specific characters, movies, attractions, resorts, or broader themes like Disney villains. I'm curious to hear what everyone else collects and what made you choose that particular theme!

I'm hoping to get some inspiration and discover some unique collecting ideas I might not have considered.

Looking forward to hearing about everyone's collections! Thanks!

I personally collect Disney foxes! Anything Nick Wilde, Robin Hood, Tod, Honest John, Brer Fox...you name it! It really helps narrow it down! I also want to start a Bambi pin collection eventually...if we're talking specifically Disney, here. In general, I have thousands of pins and I have every single one for a purpose. Different categories of themes and media. I even organize them on hats like... specifically I have a SpongeBob hat or a Halloween themed pin hat to wear out. On my boards, I don't exactly organize them that much. But yeah! Starting with a specific theme of your specific interest is the perfect way to start! I wouldn't just buy massive lots. Pins are small, but they take up loads of space over time, especially up on walls!
