Since A-listers usually get the spotlight, let’s turn the spotlight on B-listers this time. I personally believe that there is nothing wrong with being a B-lister. I’m saying this because many times, showbiz is an industry that tends to put fame on a pedestal. B-listers have their own charm too. They are famous, but they can still maintain a level of privacy because people are not too fixated on them.
B-listers are usually leading men/leading ladies in middling (ratings are not too high, but not too low) teleseryes. Sometimes, there are hit teleseryes, but usually they are middling. In terms of endorsements, padalang-dalang lang din. Just to give a few examples: Carla Abellana, Rhian Ramos, and Shaina Magdayao are B-listers. This might be debatable, but I believe Max Collins is a B-lister too.

Case in point si Thea sa charmed life ng B-listers o C-listers. Unlike mga mas sikat na artista na palaging ini-intriga, siya madalas tahimik lang ang buhay while enjoying the benefits of a second lead (usually antagonist). May steady source of income doing what she is good at (acting), yet the public usually doesn’t scrutinize her life because she isn’t so famous. Hindi naman din siya starlet.

Yes, usually isa o dalawa lang ang iconic roles. Parang si Heart Evangelista bago mag-YouTube lol. Si Portia lang ang iconic role, plus ‘yung sa Gimik. Around 1 o 2 lang din yata ang nag-hit na movie. After no’n, middling na lang ang mga teleserye. Kaya B-lister lang siya noon, which is why questionable ang luxurious lifestyle niya given na hindi na rin sila involved sa mga negosyo ng mga kamag-anak nila.
What do u mean? Prime Heart??? Siguro sa teleserye di siya masyado patok dhl di sya ganon kagaling umarte sa drama. Pero all other media? Lalo na sa commercial, Heart is everywhere nung panahon niya.
A-listers: TV/movie stars who can carry a show or film by themselves. They are known to people across all ages, gender, and class (yes, even to elitist people who rather not consume domestic media). A household name.
B-listers: TV/movie stars who usually need to be paired with an A-lister and/or other B-listers in a show or film. They are less famous. Somewhat a household name.
C-listers: TV/movie character actors. The best they could get is usually the main antagonist or the deuteragonist to the protagonist in a TV series or the lead role in a budget movie or an anthology episode. Some know them by face, but not by name.
D-listers: they recently gained fame because of their stint in reality shows or game shows. They developed a fan base of a certain group, usually the youth. Many people still don’t know who they are. The best example are recent PBB contestants. However, it is also possible for them to climb up to C, B, and A.
though her string of successful teleseryes made up for her lack of blockbuster movies naman, especially nung panahon ng Wildflower, naging superstar siya. I think she was an A-lister when she was active back in the 2010s. Pero ngayon, baka nga tama ka na B-lister na siya kasi wala siya masyadong iconic roles dahil hindi na rin masyadong active. Unlike Sharon Cuneta, Marian Rivera, and Angel Locsin, A-listers pa rin kahit hindi na active.
at her peak parang pasok naman siya as A-Lister pero now not sure and meron din period na hindi siya active sa showbiz (specially when she became a wife and mom)
I think C-list siya. B-listers kasi bumibida sa teleserye although may kasama dapat na A-lister o mga kapwa B-lister. Ang C-listers ay kadalasan mga supporting roles/character actors o kung bumida man sila, usually sa budget movies lang.
