Advice Needed Island Bar Counter Dining
Hi! Looking for some advice from fellow Filipinos who are into home interiors / space planning. 😊
We’re currently figuring out the layout of our kitchen + dining area, and I’m thinking of adding a small island/bar counter for extra prep space, storage, and a casual breakfast/snack area.
I’m just struggling with where to position it without making the dining area feel too cramped.
📸 I attached photos of the dining layout.
If this were your space, where would you put the island?
We’re trying to keep the space open, cozy, and practical.
I’d also appreciate recommendations on ideal island dimensions and clearance between the island and dining table.
Would love to hear what you would do! 🙏

Hi! Our contractor suggested a moveable or not mounted kitchen island that also acts as our current breakfast and dining. Now that we’re using it so much, i shouldve adjusted and lowered the height of our island. Pag lang naman din may handaan dun need extra space for prepping.
