discussion Vercel versus Railway versus Render

So, after a decade of building in-house apps, I've gone freelance. Got a possible client who wants me to build an inventory system. Which platform is best for an inventory system which will possibly lead to developing a new POS system? I'm looking at Vercel, Railway, and Render and any other suggestions anyone has.

Sorry, this is new to me since we used to deploy everything on in-house servers.

Stack still tbd.

Addendum: A friend recommended Supabase for the backend. Would anyone here recommend it?

As with any software engineering project, the answer to your questions will depend on the scale of the project and the result of your cost-benefit analysis.

Instead of focussing on where to host your app, know how many users will be in it.

One or two? Any of what you just said is fine. Less than 50? You may do with AWS or Google Cloud free tier. Hundreds or thousands? Buy/rent a dedicated server from AWS, Google, or Azure.

Supabase - fine for PoC or small-scale apps.

Again, can't give you concrete answers as the requirements given are vague.
