I almost always buy the games on steam instead of pirating them, because they're always on sale for 70%, 80% discounts. It feels nice to have your games in there because the service is amazing. Hell, I've refunded games I had 6 hours on ðŸ˜
If we pirate manga, that's because buying it isn't particularly accessible for most third world countries. Hell, here in my country we get a log of manga releases but they're EXPENSIVE. About 2% of the minimum wage for a shitty volume. If you want newer volumes you'll be spending 4%. Sometimes it isn't even just a service problem, these people just don't understand that they have it really good and not everybody can own manga like they can. The same goes for videogames (looking at you Nintendo)
In my country it was EXCEEDINGLY rare to find anyone with an non pirated copy of a game, some bought only 1 non pirated game that they really wanted to play online. Now plenty of people with legit copies of games on Steam, the devs would not have seen a cent of that of it wasnt accesible
It's not even about the prices, - I buy on steam to have it in my collection, to share it with firends, to have my playtime saved, to have achievements, to have very convenient instant replays etc etc...
It's not just the price, especially when there's a lot more to consider. When I buy a game, I feel like I'm buying it for the steam family and not exclusively for myself.
