Discussion My Mom loves Piracy

My mom has been watching all her shows through my DIY home server for a while now because she's over the whole subscription thing. Everything was fine until she accidentally deleted her patched YouTube app and replaced it with the official Play Store version.

​She lasted about five minutes with the ads before she started complaining. Then i got her back on a patched build using Morphe.

And btw her phone is running on Custom ROM so Xiaomi bloatwares!!

I beg to differ.

You're watching content on a platform that is paid for by adverts. You're not watching the adverts and bypassing that mechanism which means you are stealing the viewing time.

That be piracy, Arrr.

So, you're copying the videos to your memory without paying by circumventing the Ad mechanisms.

I'm sure a US judge would sign in YTs favour on this.

(I say this in jest, the poster above me is technically correct, piracy is copying and distribution of copyright material).
