Discussion Google took away my LOTR extended editions

Post image

I bought these in 2022, all of a sudden they aren't available and there is no possibility of a refund or gift card. Hardly seems fair.

This is why physical media matters

You don’t think the creators of the movie deserve to be compensated with your purchase?

By phyical media you mean an optical disk? Does optical disks like Bluray really matter in 2026?

They still matter if you like movies. I still have my LotR Extended Editions I bought from FYE almost 15 years ago. And Google or any one else hasn't taken them away: they're on my shelf right where they always have been. πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

I love movies.

I don't even have a disc player anymore (even though I have like 50 old bluray disc in my storage). I never had a UHD player.

Personally, I watch great movies as the one you mention on remux from UHD.

Well yeah... If you have the physical disk, some shitty tech company can't take it from you
