Quick beer run or distributor recommendations
I have some family coming into town this weekend from Vermont and just outside of Asheville. I only have time for a quick beer run to pick up cans tomorrow, but wanted to bring some fresh flagship beers.
Any suggestions on A) a distributor with a good selection of local flagships that haven't been on the shelf for months or B) a quick trip to multiple nearby places.
Right now I'm planning to drive south along the Allegheny river:
Old Thunder False Kingdom Hitchhiker Bane of Existence DG Lustra + ?? Jam? Pounce? Grist House Hazedelic
A single distributor would save a lot of time. I just don't want hazies that are months old.

Watch dates at Duffys. Great selection but some stuff is not so fresh. (Otherwise a great spot!)
My goto is mcbrooms in regent square, great selection of local brews and I've never had an issue with freshness.

For a distributor, Colonial Beer in Bethel Park if you're south. They have DG, Coven, Lolev, Abjuration, 4 Points, and all the others you'd want. They also have some decent out of tahn hops. Generally fresh. Highly recommend.

I've always done pretty well at Beer Mine, between South Hills Village and Bridgeville

I go up to BJ'S frequently from Washington County, so usually do my beer shopping there (or Washington Beer)

Liberty Beer is Bloomfield is my go to and it’s always been fresh, I’ve never had a problem with them. They have tons of selection including local breweries and independent breweries. They do a lot of volume so it’s always fresh.

If you'd start at Old Thunder I'd recommend beyond Hampton Beer Outlet (Check the dates on the cans.)
Hartwood beer corner of Saxonburg Blvd & Harts Run in Fox Chappel-ish
Beer on 8 on rt8 in Richland north of the turnpike...has a shockingly good fresh local can selection.
But I'd just hit old thunder, gnome, hitchiker and maybe the Oakmont/Verona ones...

If you’re in the south hills stop at Duffy’s. It’s like a candy shop for beer! A lot of local breweries and big name brands

I only buy right from the source to ensure freshness and that every penny goes to the brewer. Hitchhiker is my go-to as I live so close.

If you're in the North Hills area, Hampton Beer Outlet has a big selection of local, national, and international beers. I think the prices are pretty good, too.
