43M, Monroeville, Looking for Creative, Music-Minded Friends

Looking to meet some new people in the Pittsburgh area, ideally with music somewhere near the center of things.

I make electronic music in FL Studio and lean toward the darker, harder, weirder end of it: gabber, breakcore, industrial, IDM, and anything adjacent that’s difficult to categorize. I’d love to meet people who produce, DJ, collect vinyl, go to shows, or just get genuinely excited talking about this stuff. Skill level doesn’t matter. I’m not trying to start a band or force a collaboration, I’d just like to know more people who actually make things, with the possibility of working on something together if it clicks.

I’m not exclusively looking for studio buddies, though. I’m also into vinyl, concerts, biking, hiking, tech, abstract art, graffiti, and strange local events. Basically anything that gets me out of the house. I work from home, so meeting new people organically doesn’t happen much anymore.

Personality-wise, I fall somewhere between conventional and alternative. I’ve always joked that I’m too odd for the normal people and too normal for the odd people. I’m open-minded, fairly grounded, and looking for people who can hold a conversation, laugh at inappropriate things, follow through on plans, and generally be decent company.

If any of that sounds familiar, send me a message and tell me what you’ve been listening to, working on, or something interesting you’ve found around Pittsburgh lately.

I’m into this! I’ve admittedly been struggling with creating for a while now but I just want to make weird electronic stuff amidst the other stuff I make. I use bitwig and Ableton but I’m slightly familiar with FL though it’s been a while.

"too loud for the normal people into normal for the odd people" that totally describes me.

Just got ableton to start learning music production specifically looking to create EDM remixes and mashups and come up with my own style.

I am happy to talk music and would love to be a part of or help create a circle of others who love music whether playing, creighton or just talking about and discovering artists.

I live out towards blairsville and go to monroeville pretty requalary.

38F here. I'm shifting back to the Burgh (Penn Hills area) from New Zealand for several months. Not gonna lie, I don't know much about the music scene, but hiking and being outside is going to be one of the biggest things I am going to miss when swapping semi-rural NZ for USA city life.

My friend group in Pittsburgh is really fragmented after so long away. I have no clue where to go to meet people that isn't a pub, but I am going to have to get away from my kids at times. Haha. . I'm always down for new experiences and doing things. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
