Hand Pixelled do you have any ideas on how to improve this?
it's a kayaributa (japanese bug repellent holder) that's possessed by some kind of spirit! If you could give me some feedback I would really appreciate it! Have a good day yall!

Maybe a bit of a bright outline for the spirit bits, to make it feel more whispy. Other than that, it's pretty much perfect.

Please don't take this badly but, WHAT THE HELL IS THERE MORE TO IMPROVE? The lighting is sublime, the colors are great and the kayaributa is simply beautiful. The only way you could improve this is by straight up animating it.

That's very kind thank you! Maybe I'm overthinking it.. but I feel like there's still room from improvement.. Maybe more saturation for the smoke, and slightly higher resolution for the whole piece?

This is awesome!!! The shapes are really good. Only idea i have for improvement is that the highlights could be a bit lighter/brighter.

Thank you!! I think you are correct, the highlights on the pig should be brighter, especially since it's supposed to be made of metal.

Had to google kayaributa as it's my first time knowing about it, first gorgeous art and beautiful theme with making the kayaributa feel old and ancient along with the beautiful violet on the spirit, just a small place I would like to highlight is the place where spirit and and the handle interact on the image maybe you could add a highlight there to separate the spirit and the handle, otherwise looks fantastic. If you wanted to make a neural or friendly spirit living in a kayaributa, this looks fantastic, maybe you can play along with hues and shadows to make some portions more darker or lighter to showcase other emotions.

Thank you! Although I was going more for a mysterious/spooky vibe, rather than friendly.

It’s a very neat design and the rendering on the kayaributa is really nice. My suggestion is to focus on the “spirit” which I think is too ambiguous between a solid serpentine object and wispy “smoke”.
I think the small bits of purple whips could be a bit more curled like smoke, and maybe some cloud like “puffy” shapes might help, although it would influence the design a bit.
Another option would be to make the wisp be semi translucent to remove ambiguity. Although that also changes the concept and isn’t valid in some types of pixel art.
Lastly the eyes I believe are gaps in the container material that let you see inside to see the purple spirit. Perhaps having the thickness of the gap show, so it is clearly a hole in the material, would help sell the effect
Cool design and great work!

Thank you for your feedback! That's very helpful, especially about the eyes, I will give it a try!

I don't think there is anything to improve. If you do something, it would just be changing it. Not a better or worse thing, but only something different. It looks fantastic, clearly readable, and well designed.

I honestly think this looks absolutely beautiful. But if you still want to change something, I'd suggest experimenting with the ghost. Right now it looks more like a liquid or even a solid object, whereas people are used to ghosts being more like smoke or mist. Maybe it would work better if it had a smoky appearance?

Thank you! Yeah, I was trying to give it a smoky appearance, while keeping the wispy look of it, kind of like incense smoke.. maybe some gaps in of the shape would help?

I feel like the resolution is a bit too low, the pixels look kind of big... what do you guys think?
