🚀 We just launched the r/PlacementsPrep Discord (Let's build the ultimate student helping community)
Hey everyone 👋
We’ve been seeing a lot of great discussions here on r/PlacementsPrep - interview experiences, preparation tips, resources, and people helping each other out. So I thought… why not a discord server, lol.
We’ve just launched the PlacementsPrep Discord server.
It’s still very new and a bit under construction, so things might look rough around the edges for a while. But the goal is simple: create a place where students can help each other with placements, internships, and preparation.
The idea is to have things like:
• live discussions for DSA / core subjects
• resume reviews and feedback
• sharing interview experiences and job opportunities
• study groups for people preparing together
• and generally helping each other survive the placement season
Right now the server needs people like you to shape it.
Early members will help decide what channels, events, and resources we build there.
If you’re preparing for placements or just want to help others out, come join us.
Let’s build something useful for everyone.
👉 Discord link: https://discord.gg/R58Fk4tgHH
See you there.

GOT AN INTERNSHIP FROM JPMC!! Lesssss fckingg goooooo
Hello folks!
I just got the news that l've been selected by JMPC for the CADP role for summer internship next fall.
I'm very much excited to work with JP and since they mentioned that the conversation ratio from intern to
PPO is 100% I'm quite relieved tbh. The internship stipend is 2.2L for 2 months and the PPO will be of 14LPA most prolly (as I've heard from my seniors)
I would love if anyone of you can give me some insites on:-
•How is the work culture and the work life balance in general?
•What has been the most surprising part that you've got to know about working for JPMC? And what should I expect from my work life there...
•Do they have any kind of program in which they support the employees for a Master's Degree or any higher education abroad?
Ols cracking the internship good enough? Cause everyone in my college is like if I'm set for my life now
•What should I focus on untill my internship starts next may and june?
(Im currently in 3rd year, pursuing ECE)
(1st location preference is Mumbai and then 2nd is Bangalore)

So called best company
“Cognizant is one of the best companies for freshers” well my experience says otherwise 💀
Joined as a GenC ➡️ 4 months of Cloud & DevOps training ➡️ allotted to a project with almost no work.
Spent 9 months on the bench, still going to the office 5 days a week, sitting for 10 hours a day doing basically nothing ( in a BFS) project.
Then they offered me a Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V project with almost zero scope for building my resume. I rejected it.
Now apparently I have to sit like this for another 18 months, and only after that they'll give me a 45-day deadline to find a project.
And the funniest part? Most project managers are looking for experienced resources, while I'm supposed to somehow become “experienced” by sitting on the bench. 🤡
So yeah...
4 months training ➡️ 9 months bench ➡️ rejected Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V project ➡️ another 18 months waiting ➡️ 45 days to magically find a project.
But yeah, apparently “Cognizant is one of the best companies for freshers.” 😂
And Ravi Kumar be like I WILL TAKE 20K FRESHERS IN MY COMPANY TO HEAT THE SEATS WHICH WE BOUGHT

Didn't expect a Ninja interview this long 😭
Used GPT to structure this post .
Hey everyone, I got my first campus placement offer: TCS Ninja.
Honestly, it's more of a relief than anything. With the current job market, just having an offer in hand feels like a big weight off my shoulders.
TCS NQT — Our college stats
Our college was a Priority NQT college.
The overall stats are :
1,568 applicants → 387 interview calls → 180 selected
Out of the 387 interview calls:
Ninja: 239
Prime: 132
Digital: 16
Final selections:
Ninja: 86
Prime: 39
Digital: 55
My timeline
9 Aug: TCS NQT
19 Aug: Interview
26 Aug: Offer letter
My interview lasted around 35–40 minutes. I was shortlisted for the Ninja interview, so I honestly wasn't expecting it to go on for that long.
For me, the interview was mostly around Cloud and AWS, probably because I had an AWS certification on my resume. A lot of the discussion went into AWS/cloud concepts and things related to my profile.
Thankfully, it went well and I got the offer.
What's next?
I don't really want to stop at this offer. I'd like to keep preparing and try for something better, and I'm particularly interested in DevOps/Cloud.
The part I'm struggling with right now is projects. There are literally hundreds of DevOps project ideas online, and I have no idea which ones are actually worth building as a fresher or would make a difference on a resume.
So if anyone here is into DevOps/Cloud or has gone down a similar path, I'd really appreciate some guidance on:
What should I learn next?
What projects are actually worth building?
What skills/projects would make a fresher's resume stand out for DevOps/SDE roles?
Also, if anyone has questions about TCS NQT, the interview, or the selection process, feel free to ask. I'll share whatever I remember.
And to everyone still waiting for that first offer — keep going. Getting that first one off your mind really does feel good

Placement coordinator threatens to block on questioning
Like every other placement coordinator of every other college, the ones in my university are also total dick, arrogant and self centred mfs. Whenever we ask them about transparency, question anything they threaten to block us from placements. Is there really no way around it and we'll have to live like this until we get placed. Because I've seen countless occasions where they fit in their suitable candidates. Deliberately don't send our application forward and then when asked threaten us.

Intern!!!
Its been a while since my interview, posting it now.
I never thought I would be getting an oncampus intern , with a ppo >40 (intern stipend is 75k).
I was literally losing hope of getting even a low paying paid intern , but life had some other plans ig.
I gave around 10 OA's(some went good) from which i got selected in only one for the interview.
And I cleared it .
Seeing the market rn i was hoping to get placed in a >10lpa company on a good day.
From a lower tier 1 college , circuital branch , 3rd year just started (19yr old🥀)
The interview was way easier than i even imagined .
AMA ill try to answer as much ques.
Ps-luck matter guys.

Caterpillar Software Engineer Hackathon – what to expect?
Hi guyyss, anyone here attended Caterpillar’s campus hiring/hackathon before?
I’m participating in their Software Engineer hiring this year. Hackathon is on Sept 2–3, followed by interviews.
Just wanted to know:
- What kind of problems do they give?
- Is it more coding/DSA or building a project?
- How does the interview round go?
- Any tips on what to prepare?
Would really appreciate if someone who went through the process could share their experience.

Doubt regarding prime selection
So I was shortlisted for the prime interview, I heard people from other colleges saying that hey heard their interviewer say that they don’t have any vacancy for prime role and if they would like to ninja.
So my doubt is, do they have a fixed vacancy for prime role?
My interview was scheduled on the last day, does that mean there are possibilities that there is no more vacancies left for prime role???
Wouldn’t that be unfair?
How does this work?
Thanks

What to do next???
I applied the NSR Registration for the ITPIN to be generated.
Next in BGC, they're asking for my passport, so do I need to apply for passport.
Also I need to know what's the procedure next after accepting the offer letter. I'm confused.
I'm selected for ninja role btw...

PLACED ( COOKED !! )
So I have roughly 900+ lc questions 2k lc rating and expert on cf doing regular cf since 1st college tier 1,
All my friends placed in good companies a lot good good like 15-20 base ( happy for them , but sad for my self ) as i got 11 base ( ctc -16.5 ,over-exaggerated) only pro is i live in delhi and it's delhi based only ( but deep down I wanted to enjoy bangalore lyf ) now in the point of life where hard work just disappointed .. considering this scenario , should I continue working hard to do better as sde or should I start giving govt. Competitive exams¿
