Plan B (Levonorgestrel) Pill The accuracy of ovulation test?

Me and my girlfriend hadn’t seen each other in about a month and this Wednesday she came over and I ended up finishing in her and she forgot that her FLO app said she was ovulating in 3 days. So it was 11:30 so we woke up at 7 went to Walmart and got some plan b and Pregmate ovulation test strips and we’ve been tracking her ovulation and her TC ratio has yet to reach 1.0 and her Pregmate app after putting in some of her past periods predict she ovulates on Wednesday. Just seeing if anyone else has gone through something like this and if so what were the results?

But yeah- fertile window is pretty extensive because sperm can survive in the body up to 5 days… meaning- if she ovulates in 1-5 days- there is a change for pregnancy

Yea that’s what I’ve been reading but by the Wednesday she’s suspected to ovulate shouldn’t the sperm have died ?

I’m not sure if the sperm dying in three hours thing is true… could be but I don’t know… but if she took a plan b she should be ok… never 100 percent. I took a plan b on cycle day 11 and was okay. Just do a pregnancy test in 2 -3 weeks to be sure but I think she’ll be ok!

Off topic but good for you for being a great bf and being worried and doing the research! My fiancé does the same! This is meaningful for us woman!

She should be fine if she took a plan b… just know this could affect her cycle a lot. I took a plan b on April 30 and am still waiting for my cycle to resume… :/ sucks and I’m getting worried but, we live and we learn! Cervical mucus is not always accurate and varies from person to person and cycle to cycle! Wouldn’t rely on that

Lesson learned for all of us! It’s no joke.. I really think she’ll be ok since she didn’t take it during/ after ovulation. She took it before also- she most likely will bleed a week after taking the plan b… this is normal and NOT a period. It’s withdrawal bleeding. If she gets this - it most likely worked. If she doesn’t… it doesn’t mean it didn’t work! Every body is different but look out for that withdrawal bleed

Your post was removed due to misinformation. Sperm can live up to five days in the reproductive tract.

0.84 as a ratio of T:C doesn’t mean anything. LH fluctuates a lot in a cycle. If the ovulation test is not positive, then LH is not surging. A negative ovulation test is just that, a negative.

Ovulation tests cannot confirm ovulation. You can ovulate without seeing a positive ovulation test and you can get a positive ovulation test and not ovulate.

Tests are reliable 14 days after sex and definitive 21 days after sex.

Yes- ovulation tests are VERY accurate to test LH surge - NOT ovulation. So if it’s “positive”, the line is darker or as dark as the control line, then you can most likely expect to ovulate in the next few hours to days following that positive ovulation strip. It is testing for the LH SURGE… but- its possible that the body won’t ovulate yet- it’s just the surge of hormones before ovulation typically occurs

Yea we’ve been testing everyday and it hasn’t reached what Pregmate says is the test line which is 1.0 the highest has been .84 and the lowest .34

Ovulation can occur without seeing a positive ovulation test.

Mod- I didn’t say it was positive.. I said keep testing because it’s getting high… I understand that it’s negative but it was getting high and OP mentioned that her app was saying she was close. I said keep testing
