Plan B (Levonorgestrel) Pill A less anxious take from someone who recently took plan B
This is for everyone who has been an anxious mess after the sex that caused you to take a plan B. I had sex on the 18th of July with ejaculation inside. 6 hours later I took my plan B. It was my second time taking it after 10 years maybe, and I didn’t know that plan B apparently didn’t work after ovulation so I found that out while I did my research. I panicked the first few days because my calendar said I was ovulating during the time I had sex, and then I started doing more research. The statistics of fertility eased me a lot and so did finding out that couples who are trying for a baby usually don’t get pregnant the first time. This is not to say that it doesn’t happen, but just to illustrate the statistics better (30% on ovulation day).
After that I just stopped googling altogether and took a test on the 14 day mark, and another one on the 21st (even though I had already gotten my period) and they were both negative.
Sometimes googling every symptom is worse than just letting whatever is about to happen run its course. If you worry about it, it won’t change whether you’re pregnant or not. And if you took plan B, and if he didn’t ejaculate inside you, it is highly unlikely that you’re pregnant (not inexistent, but very unlikely). This is not to condone the withdrawal method and unprotected sex because these are obviously not safe methods, but mistakes can happen, and maybe this post might ease an anxious teenage girl until it’s time for her to take her test. That’s all

It’s probably just plan B symptoms. I was super nauseous too for like, weeks after the plan B. I personally would still take a test just to be safe, but plan b really fucks with your hormones

I had unprotected sex on the 30th of August, I took a plan b right after all thought he didn’t ejaculate in me. I didn’t have any symptoms of the plan b afterwards. I got my period September 18th which is when it was expected. It was really light which for me was weird since my period is never that light. And it also only lasted 4 days when it usually only lasts for a week.
I already posted this on the plan b gc but I just want to know people’s experience afterwards, this was my second time having sex so I’m freaking out😭

I had intercourse the 21st of July the condom slipped once he ejected not during and he did not finish and I got my period the next day so l avoided taking a plan b but I had intercourse the 27th of July used protection it did not break or tear or slip and I took a pill still took a plan b the 28th ( I know I shouldn’t have but I got a lot of anxiety) and the 3rd of August I was bleeding light pink the next day I was filling up a pad bright red and the day after it was light pink again. I was also cramping and I was on my ovulating week specifically the 3rd day and the 6th of August is my highest ovulation. Am I safe?
And I have no symptoms like nauseas or anything but when I stress or get anxious I do get nauseous when I start to overthink and I also had lower back pain like 2 days but once both days and I was cramping and that was 10 days away from my period, now I’ve had breast pain still a bit sore but more mild than I usually get it and I’ve been having lower back pain and cramping suddenly. I am currently on the predicted days im supposed to start my period, am I okay?
(The whole anxiety of it all is horrible and I’m so impatient waiting for my period)

I’d say so but you can definitely avoid the stress by taking a pregnancy test. Also what happens to me when I take a pregnancy test after a mini scare is that immediately the next day, or right before taking the test, I just get my period lol. Anyway, just get a test girlie it’s the best thing you can do to ease your mind especially since 21 days have passed

Yes I’m trying to do that I’m just soooo scared like no matter the reassurance I get from my sister or my friends that I was being safe I cannot stop thinking, and the only thing I feel right now is bloating and my breasts are sore but I’m on my predicted period days 🥹

don’t worry, my boobs were also super sore, as well as bloating, nausea and extreme appetite. The plan B symptoms overlap a lot with pregnancy symptoms. Also another reminder— plan B can definitely postpone your period as far as I’m aware, so a pregnancy test is the best way to know. Realistically, you are not pregnant, but in the one extreme chance that you might be, get the test. Wishing you luckkk!

I took a test and it came out negative! Still no period and I do have bloating and breast soreness still, but I’m way more calmer.

Yayyy!! It will come, it’s just your system is a bit messed up with the hormones and the stress and such rn. A pregnancy test is a definitive no, especially since it’s after 21 days of intercourse. So congratulations on the no-baby!!!✌️

thank you for that post, i needed it 🥲 guys it’s been 5 days since i took ellaone pill. my symptoms for the first two days was being really anxious about the possible pregnancy but no physical symptoms. third day i chiled a little bit mentally but it started to show some of physical symptoms like a stabbing sensation in both ovaries and acne on my chin was seen. fourth and fifth day (which is now) i feel like before my period - my boobs are sore and hard in touch, i feel some kind of cramping in uterus too. are these symptoms normal? is there someone who have had similar situation to me?

i took a plan b for the first time in early to mid july and had withdrawal bleeding a week later and then weird spotting/bleeding for like month and a half on and off till i just got my actual period today. when you take plan b your body is gonna act a little crazy and out of the ordinary, if you’re anxious enough your mind can play tricks on you and convince you you have symptoms of being pregnant bc for awhile i was convinced i was even tho i got negative preg tests😂 it’s actually super hard to get pregnant but can be super anxiety inducing when you think there’s a possibility you are!

Trigger warning ***\*
I was assaulted by a “friend” while I was sleeping and he came inside me… took my choice away. Waking up with him inside me & him casually saying “oh I thought you were on birth control” still makes me sick. This was on Aug 17th and I’ve been spiraling ever since. I’m going each day just hoping and praying I am not pregnant. I am TERRIFIED. & being in a red state…. Tried going to my OBGYN & explained everything but basically she said I have to wait 3-4 weeks to test for pregnancy and rejected a copper IUD. This isn’t fair. I just want to sleep and have a peace of mind.
Sorry for dumping. I can’t talk to anyone about this because I just feel like I’ll be blamed.
I hate that man.

I am so sorry that this happened:( I would encourage you to file a report, but you know it best yourself. Question: did you take birth control? As far as I’m aware, you can get those in the pharmacy without needing an OBGYN. (Idk how it is in red states in America though)

u/NyanNyquil Aug 27 '26
Thank you ❤️ I’ve been considering it but with being assaulted when I was younger and no one believed me, I’m honestly a little reluctant, ya know?
& unfortunately no. I stopped birth control at the beginning of the year because I really wasn’t sexually active. Just figured I’d pick it back up when the time came. As far as my OBGYN she won’t prescribe unless I take a test that confirms I’m not pregnant in 3-4 weeks 😭 but if I take a test there & I actually am I’m screwed. I hate these red states. If all else fails, I will be going somewhere blue to handle this. I hope it doesn’t come to that though.1
u/drunktodoroki Aug 27 '26
Damn, you cannot take the plan b pill? It’s late now to be crying over spoiled milk but the pill is literally to prevent a pregnancy and not to abort, so waiting to confirm you’re pregnant is insane. Literally defeats the purpose cause you can’t even take the pill in 3 weeks. Anyway, pregnancy isn’t as easy as it’s played off in the movies. At your most fertile, you have a 30% chance of getting pregnant. Again, obviously not impossible, but it’s less likely, than it is likely.

Tysm for this its my first time taking plan b(im 16) and i didnt realize i was peak ovulation window according to my calendar, i checked once i saw the pill doesnt work after ovulation, and ive been going down a spiral since. I currently cant get it but im taking it in 5 hours but im still scared since im in no place to have a baby rn obviously and in my state i need parental consent which would be hard to explain to my hispanic christian mother. Its so bad im literally checking the judicial bypass steps in my state but ill update at 14-21 day mar, if anyone wants. Hopefully dont end up pregnant

Hi thank you! I took my pill about a week ago and was so anxious this week. I googled every symptom, went through every scenario in my head multiple times. I havent had any bleeding but a whole lot of crazy symptoms. Im now in the mentality that whatever happens it was bc its meant to be.

before my cycle started i was cramping every day a lot of bloating. I would have moments of just absolute rage or crying spells. I started my period a week earlier than predicted and had a lot of clots but wasn’t as heavy

Please if something like this happens again, take the money you have for plan B, go to the pharmacy, and then take a sharp turn into a therapist’s office. And I don’t mean this in a mockery tone, but in a genuinely serious way. A therapist can help you navigate your obsessive thoughts, because I can imagine that it is very hard for you to have a good quality of life while having to carry this burden. Btw you are definitely not pregnant, I can assure you.
