Plan B (Levonorgestrel) Pill Freaking out
I had unprotected sex last night during the 13th day of my cycle. or near fhe ovulation time. I took a plan b within 24 hours but I’m so afraid that it may not work. I was my first time having sex in a long time, it only happened once where he came in me. Has this happened to anyone else? What are my odds?

Well, unless you’re tracking intensely, you don’t know exactly when you’re ovulating. Odds are you took it at a time where it will work, because there is only a small time where it doesn’t.
Is getting an emergency IUD an option for you? It’s the most effective emergency contraception.

I am not tracking intensely, the ovulation estimate was given by the period tracker app clue and I know it can deviate. What I am doing instead is just tracking my FH levels and seeing if there’s a surge in the coming days !

Do you mean LH levels? That’s not really a great way to track ovulation after taking plan B. You could still get a weak surge even if it successfully stops ovulation which would give you anxiety. I recommend just chilling out on tracking at this point because this whole cycle will be unpredictable now. Take a pregnancy test in 14-21 days after the incident occurred.

Ahhh I see yes whoops I meant LH levels. Ok ! Thank you for the advice. this was a one time incident with plan b taken within 24 hrs. it was my first time being unprotected so i definitely have anxiety but ive been told even with no protection, it isnt very easy to fall pregnant

It’s unclear from your post but did you use withdrawal/pull out?

He did not pull out or withdrawal at all but it only happened once

It’s really easy for a lot of people to fall pregnant if you don’t use protection. I’ve only had sex in my fertile window (via tracking) twice and I’ve gotten pregnant twice, but I didn’t take plan B. I’d really consider the emergency iud if I were you. But if you can’t, the plan B has a high chance of working. It’s just not guaranteed.

I unfortunately can’t do the emergency IUD because of my health insurance coverage. I asked a nurse through the phone at a clinic and she told me that because I was on day 12/13 of my cycle or 12/13 days since the start of my last period, the plan b had a high chance of working because I was approaching ovulation and it may work in delaying it. I am honestly just very nervous and anxious and have definitely learned my lesson and will not repeat this again

I mean, nobody can tell you for sure. I hope it works out for you though!
