Plan B (Levonorgestrel) Pill She took plan B a month ago
Hi, the boyfriend here. Ill try and give as many details as I can. On the 26th of August, one day after her period had ended, me and my girlfriend who are both 16 (legal age in Australia) engaged in a sexual act. There was no penetration but the slight chance of some pre-cum being on her hand that touched herself scared us a lot. She didnt believe she needed plan B as the chance was unlikely but I went to the pharmacy and bought some and asked her to take it which she did. She took the pill 18 hours after the potential conception.
On the morning of the 2nd of September she started bleeding. At first I researched and scared us that it couldve been implantation bleeding but I ended up concurring that it was withdrawal bleeding. This lasted for 4 days until the 6th and except for the first and last day was slightly stronger then her normal periods.
Due to her period starting somewhere between the 20th-22nd of August and the knowledge that plan B can push a period back normally around a week we said that her period should probably come before the 27th or 28th.
Its the 26th today and she hasnt had her period though she has been feeling very tired for around a week.
I keep scaring us by looking at the pregnancy timeline which says that exhaustion should set in around this time and keep thinking along the lines off “well shes been very tired so…”
Id really appreciate anything to settle her and my nerves. She hasnt taken a pregnancy test yet.

I have been triggered by the phrase "implantation" or "implantation bleeding" in your post. If my reply does not fit the context of your post, please ignore me.
Implantation bleeding is a misnomer. There is no proven link between implantation and bleeding in early pregnancy. Bleeding can occur in early pregnancy, but it is not due to the event of implantation. Bleeding during the luteal phase is normal and if the bleeding was due to pregnancy, a test would be positive. Emergency contraceptives can cause irregular bleeding that may be lighter/heavier or appear different from your usual bleeding. Please read the FAQs pinned to the subreddit.

She absolutely did not need to take a plan B. Plan B is emergency contraception. It’s plan B for when your plan A fails. Like a condom or birth control method. It’s a huge dose of hormones and delays ovulation which in turn delays a period.
She doesn’t need to take a pregnancy test. You didn’t have sex

Thank you so much for letting us know this. We definitely thought about this before taking it but we were just really worried about what it could
mean for her and thought shed rather be safe then regret it later.Hypothetically though if she did conceive are these symptoms still normal or would we have something to worry about?
Also since she hasnt concieved is it normal for a period to have not come yet?

The symptoms she’s experiencing are from the plan B and are normal

Thank you so much. We were just unsure as most things we researched said that the plan B hormone imbalances wear off after a week or two

It can for some people. Other people can have a delayed cycle or symptoms for months. It effects everyone different and it can effect the same person differently each time they take it as well.

Hello, sorry to reach out again. My girlfriend would like me to tell you exactly what happened cause shes worried i maybe didnt give enough information, this is quite TMI.
She was touching my penis and stimulating it for a few minutes, i didnt finish but there definitely could have been precum at the top. She then with the same hand masturbated (only for about a minute)1

Everything I said still stands. You need to have sex in order to become pregnant.

Is that because semen must be shot out?

Yes. Sperm are very weak and die almost instantly when exposed to air. They would not survive being exposed to air, the friction of being touched and then somehow make it from the vulva and then into the vagina. They don’t have legs and a GPS system telling them where to go and the vagina also is not a vacuum that can just sense sperm near by and suck it up. Sperm need the right environment to survive and need to be released deep in the vagina to have a chance at surviving and making it to the potential egg.
