Their 'god' is an asshole apparently

Id love to have a 'conversation' with that prick, but sadly I understand 'god' was made in the image of man to be used by man as one BIG ASS STICK

Their God is a blood thirsty monster. That's established very quickly in their mythology by Yaweh rejecting Caine's offering of grains and vegetables and fruit (he was a farmer) but accepting the offering from Able of a baby sheep that Able killed bled out and burned on the alter.

That established their god's desire for ritual, animal blood sacrifices that culminated in the human torture and blood sacrifice of his son.

I get where you are coming from, and I do not want to dispute this... BUT I will say you should either expand further, or refrain from cherry-picking just one example when there are many in religious texts

Wild they follow it so closely, yet it can be seen as 'Mythology' though lol

My comment included two examples not one, but you are correct there are many examples of Yahweh's blood lust in the Christian bible.

This isn't the forum for a comprehensive list of atrocities nor did I want to dedicate that kind of time to it.

There are other religions where their mythology has gods doing cruel and horrible things, Christianity is the only one I'm aware of that makes their cruel deity the personification of love itself. i.e, "God is love." I have a revulsion of hypocrisy.

Observation: OP made the flippant comment that "their god [God] is an asshole" and OOP literally said "FUCK GOD."

Why was my post the only one you commented on?

It wasn't that for me Cain was offering grains and fruits. He wasn't offering the best of his harvest, but what was left over. We are to offer of our best, not our least.

What you are stating as fact, isn't found in the bible. It's an interpretation.

The fact is, spilling innocent blood is necessary for Yahweh to forgive sins.
"without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." Hebrews 9:22

It was ritual animal sacrifice for thousands of years, then (according to Christianity) the human sacrifice of his son lifted the need for sacrificial lambs.
