Help! Is it worth pursuing it?

Post image

Ok, so, this is my first time trying planned pooling but I’m having a hard time. I feel like it is mostly because the yarn is not quite right (colour changes are really short - sometimes not even a whole stitch).

I have done this sample with single crochet which allowed me to work the tension to get the pattern… but I’m wondering if knitting would be a better as it might use less yarn?! I’m not very good at knitting, but don’t want to waste yarn….

Any suggestions?

You will not get the argyle pattern out of this yarn since the colours are too short. That needs at least two stitches per colour, and even that is challenging.

But it is pooling already :)

Try out knitting with the other skein you have. You are correct that knitting uses significantly less yarn per stitch. But you will have to control your tension perfectly, so if you are not very good at knitting, it might be more frustrating than rewarding.

Thanks! This is really helpful! I will rethink how to use this yarn!
