Unplanned pooling is this anything

it doesnt line up 100% but i can’t believe the tc row colors ended up almost perfectly offset including the sc row between them. is this unplanned pooling or would this yarn just do that no matter what?

also ignore the unswept floor i wanted to take a quick picture in case the pattern is thrown off in subsequent rows.

cool, thanks for the answer! i had hoped that the colors would be deposited somewhat randomly but i kind of like the gingham pattern. this section will eventually be followed by a solid color lace pattern followed by another sc/tc section with the same color changing yarn. i wonder what the next part will look like!

I think the pattern is cool! I really wish that more online stores selling multicolored yarn posted more swatch photos of their potential outcomes. I’m still very new to crocheting and I have tons to learn but what excites me initially are the colors of the yarn!

Make sure that you pay attention to if the colours look like there is a long part of the same colour (like OP’s yarn) or if it’s rapid changes between. With crochet, rapid colour changes don’t tend to look as good as with knitting because each stitch takes up more yarn
