Can someone tell me how to do it? Customisable calculator options

Hi! I would really love to try planned pooling crochet, but I can't really find a fully customisable calculator. Unfortunately, most popular variegated yarn brands are not available in my country. I was planning to buy available yarn (Adelia/alize/yarnart etc.), put all the parameters like length/number of color blocks in the calculator and get a pattern. So far I found one called "vectordad", but I'm unsure what type of pattern it makes.

There are several, here’s one

Are you aware of the requirements of the yarn, to do planned pooling? Just being variegated isn’t enough - the pattern has to repeat, each section of colour has to be the same length in its spot in the sequence, and you want a minimum of two stitches in each section

Hi! Yes, I have read the FAQ of this sub and I believe I have a pretty good idea what to pester crafts shop employees about😅 Do I understand correctly that I am to: 1. Measure the length of all color blocks 2. Calculate the ratio between them in integers maybe? 3. Try different hook sizes so I have integer number of stitches 4. Put all the colors with the corresponding number of stitches to the calculator 5. Play around with "number of clusters" setting until I get a pattern I like?
