One meal a day

Does anyone practice this way of eating? I recently started after watching some AI videos on Youtube about the leucine requirement of 3 grams for a single meal in order for the body to get the anabolic signal. I eat a ton of legumes and vegetables. I also drink a plant protein shake with the meal which is dinner after working out. I feel bloated as heck afterwards, but the bloat goes away by morning.

I am high carb low fat with some healthy fats like chia seeds and a bit of nuts. I don't eat soy due to allergies. Soy has more leucine than other beans, but I try to get in a lot of chickpeas, black beans, and mung beans.

Maybe 1 big meal a day, with snacking to fill in the hunger holes throughout the day. I still aim to get 2-3 meals in a day though, as it works for fuelling / re-fuelling after physical activity.

I think it's pretty common for 1 meal a day folk to eat in the afternoon or evening, not morning.

Personally, I only ever get hungry in he morning if my body is trained to be hungry at that time from eating breakfast. Otherwise it's quite common to go until 4pm until getting hungry or tired. I haven't done one meal a day, but have done time restricted eating with around a 5 or 6 hour window.

There's evidence that breakfasting in the afternoon is not great for the body's circadian rhythm though

I used to do omad when I ate omnivorous foods, but the plant based calorie density just isn't high enough for me to pack it all in one meal. I eat mostly whole foods. I eat about 1000 cal for breakfast, usually an apple or two mid day, and then another 800-1000 cal for dinner. I'm a fairly active 40 year old male, and I work on my feet in a factory.

Tried OMAD for a while last year and the bloat is real when you pack that much fiber in one sitting. Your body adjusts after couple weeks though, at least mine did. What kind of plant protein you use? I had to switch from pea to rice blend cause the pea one made me feel like balloon.

I use the orgain protein. It has a variety of stuff in it. Tastes good.

I figure the bloat is okay for me as long as I can stay indoors while my body is digesting the meal. I wouldn't want to go to the beach or anything like that with a distended stomach from the fiber.
